The 9th edition of the Black Diamond Poker Open is set to begin this week and players have already been vying for a spot by taking part in several qualifying options. This time around, there will be over $6.3 million in guaranteed prize money, with 150 events taking place over a six week time frame. The action kicks off on February 28th and will continue through March 31st.

There are several highlights on the schedule that players will not want to miss. Special events have been added, including the Super High Roller Tune-Up, the High Roller Tune-Up and the BDP09 Tune-Up Special. With these three events, the a combined $384,000 in guaranteed prize money is up for grabs and they will start before the series begins to kick off the action.
The traditional Sunday $150,000 and $100,000 High Roller guaranteed events will be replaced on March 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th with $159,000 and $125,000 versions. There will also be a Mini Main Event that will offer a lower buy-in than the standard Main Event, offering a buy-in of $100 + $9. This option will take place on March 29th and offer $125,000 in guaranteed prize money.
